Easton's 2014 bat lineup is designed for both power and contact hitters to generate their power through different forms. The speed series is designed for a quick swing, while the XL1 is designed for power.
Mako- This ultimate bat has a quicker swing speed than the S1 while having a barrel size comparable to the XL1. It's a two-piece all composite bat with a TCT composite barrel and handle joined through Easton's patented Connexion technology.
XL1- This two-piece bat was designed for one thing in mind: power. The XL1 has a massive end-loaded barrel to bring more mass to the ball. This bat features an IMX composite barrel joined with an SIC Composite handle through Easton's Connexion Technology. The black carbon taper minimizes bad vibrations.
S1- This bat is very similar to the XL1 since it is made with an IMX composite barrel and SIC carbon handle. The difference is this bat has a smaller barrel length which moves more weight towards the hands resulting in a faster bat.
S2- This is the second bat in the speed series. This bat is a two-piece bat that has a THT 100 Scandium Alloy instead of having a composite barrel like the S1. It still features Easton's connexion technology and carbon handle.
S3- Unlike the S1 and S2, the S3 is a full one-piece bat. It is made from THT 100 Scandium alloy. The one piece design makes this bat more durable. It includes the carbon handle like all the other Speed Series bats.
